Writing C1 Example: Informal email – Ejemplo real de examen de Cambridge.
Nuestro estudiante Alejandro AL escribió este email con respuesta a esta tarea:
You receive this letter from a friend who is planning to study abroad:
I’m not sure about going to study abroad anymore. How will I meet people and find somewhere to live? And I’m worried I won’t understand my lessons. Maybe it’s not the right thing for me after all!
You decide to write to your friend giving your opinion and offering advice. Write your email in 220-260 words. Write your answer in an appropriate style.
Alejandro’s answer:
Hi!
How are things going? Although it’s been a long time since we last talked, it’s great to hear from you! In response to your wondering about studying abroad, let me tell you not to worry: I will be glad to help you making up your mind!
First up, nowadays you won’t find any trouble when it comes to looking for somewhere to live: on the Internet there are thousands of websites where you can search for houses for rent or even going to a students residence!
Besides, don’t panic about not meeting new people! You’re not going to be the only one who’s studying abroad, so it’s most probable that you will meet people from all over the world. Also, you’re so sociable that I’m pretty sure that on your first days abroad, you will have made lots of friends!
Finally, I suggest not being insecure about not understanding your lessons. Although you may not have a high level in other languages, English is one of the most international ones! So, no matter where you go, there is always somebody you can communicate with!
I hope to have helped you making a decision and, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask me!
Cheers,
Alejandro.
